چکیده
Abstract The dry machining strategy has recently received high attention in the field of metal cutting as it can eliminate environmental impacts associated with usage fluids. However, high-generated heat and severe tool wear are usually observed for operations. One suggested techniques to improve performance is utilize textured tools, reducing friction at chip-tool interface. In this study, three different micro-textured designs were used during AISI 1045 conditions. A life cycle assessment was performed including power consumption preparing measured experiments. Furthermore, some outputs (flank wear, surface roughness, unit volume time) further included offer a comprehensive effective sustainability utilized tools. these tools also compared non-textured under same design narrow micro-groove width showed better sustainable other designs.

متن کاملA Comparative Study of Tool Life Between Ceramic and CBN Cutting Tools when Machining 52100 Steel and Optimization of Cutting Parameters
This paper describes a comparison of tool life between ceramics and cubic boron nitride (CBN) cutting tools when machining hardened steels using the Taguchi method. An orthogonal design, signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to determine the effective cutting parameters on the tool life. The results indicated that the V was found to be a dominant factor on t...
متن کاملMachining with Minimal Cutting Fluid
The purpose of cutting fluid in a machining operation is to cool the workpiece, reduce friction, and wash away the chips. The cutting fluid contributes significantly toward machining cost and also possesses environmental threats. In the past, there have been some attempts to minimize the amount of cutting fluid in machining. This chapter reviews some prominent ways to minimize the application o...

The increasing demand of micro or miniature parts and the development of the micro machining processes are the cause of the growing of micro wire electrical discharge machining (μ-WEDM). μ-WEDM has the ability to manufacture complicate shapes with high accuracy and provides the advantage of machining any conductive materials regardless of their mechanical properties in the absence of significan...
متن کاملOn-Line Optimization of Cutting Conditions for NC Machining
This paper discusses a number of discrete models used for optimization of cutting condition during NC machining. The models can be broadly placed into two categories: 1. volumetric models in which feedrate is proportional to either average or instantaneous volumetric removal rate, 2. vector force models in which feedrate is set to values which keep either average or instantaneous cutting forces...
